Wednesday HodgePodge #171

Hi, y'all!  I'm joining up with Joyce and the other ladies for this week's Wednesday Hodgepodge.  I'm loving meeting new people through this link up!  Here we go with this week's questions-

1. April 22nd is Earth Day. Are you inspired by nature? In what way?
I do love nature even though I'm not a very outdoorsy girl.  I love all the pretty blooming flowers of spring but all of the blooming wreaks havoc on my allergies!

2. Down to earth, four corners of the earth, move heaven and earth, not have an earthly chance, or salt of the earth...which earthly idiom have you most recently encountered? Explain.

I think I'm a pretty down to earth person but I don't have any recent situation to explain it.

3. Share one piece of advice you might give a newly engaged couple.
I think having a Christ-centered home is THE most important thing to have for a successful marriage.  Most, if not all, problems or issues that come up can be resolved if both parties are able to pray about them, talk about them and then do the right thing.

4. When did you last engage someone to perform a job, task, service, home repair, or improvement? On a scale of 1-10 (ten being the best) how would you rate their work and/or your satisfaction with the job or service provided?
A couple of weeks ago, our water started backing up in the tubs/shower and toilets so we had to get a plumber here quickly.  We have a problem with tree roots getting in our water lines and clogging things up so about twice a year it seems that we have to get the plumber to come out.  I would give our plumber a 10!  He was here when he said he would be and quickly got everything flowing good!

5. When did you last find yourself engaged in small talk? Are you awkward or an expert or somewhere in between?
I took a phone call at work on Monday from someone that I didn't know.  She wanted to talk genealogy stuff that I didn't know anything about concerning a former member/preacher.  I really didn't help her out much but I did point her in another direction to find out some info, hopefully!  I guess I'm somewhere in the middle of being an expert or being awkward in these kinds of situations.

6.  What was the last historic place you visited?
Does Graceland count as a historic place?  Sure it does if you're a true Elvis Fan!  I went there several years ago on a girls trip with my mom and daughter.  We had a great time!

7. The world would be a better place if we just__________________________.
What this world needs is to get back to the Bible and everything else will just work out and fall into place.

8.  Insert your own random thought here.
I'm so thankful for this hubby of mine!  He's building us our dream home and doing a lot of the work himself.  It's going to be beautiful when it's finished!

Please take a minute and go follow my other blog "Does God Shave" where I talk about funny stories that happen in my little Bible Class!

Spring Has Sprung!

Spring definitely has sprung here in SE. Oklahoma!  Our weather has fluctuated so much over the last month that we literally had to take it day by day as how to dress each day.  Finally, we began to see little signs of warmer weather.
Daffodils are always the first sign of spring around here and they just seem to pop up and bloom almost over night.
My mom's forsythia blooming is another sure sign that warmer weather is just around the corner.
Mom's peach trees are also in full bloom.  I hope we can pick the fruit this year before the critters get them all like they did last year.

With all of the lovely blooming flowers and trees, also comes my least favorite part of spring.
SLCs.  Scary. Looking. Clouds.  Ashley's weatherman actually uses SLCs as if it's a real meteorological term!
Spring can be really scary and dangerous here so I'll be spending lots of time with this man-my favorite weather man!  He's the best!

On a side note-I hope everyone had a great Easter.  I had a fun day in my Bible Class!  We made cute little bunny masks in the last few minutes of class.
Allan was working and neither of our kids were able to come home so I was kind of by myself.  I went to Roma's after church with mom and dad and church friends.
The waiters there at Roma's are the best!  They wanted to get in on the Easter fun with us!
Have a great week!
