Put A Little Love In Your Heart

I hope everyone had a lovely Valentine's Day last week.  I sure did!  Allan came home early from work and surprised me with this-
Flowers, itunes card, and CHOCOLATE!!!!  I just love Ghirardelli chocolates!  Everytime they come out with a new flavor combination, I say, "That's my favorite!".  Truth is, they're all my favorite!
Abby thought Allan brought the roses for her!
She just kept reaching out to grab one and then stuck her little nose right in to sniff!  So cute!
Before I knew it, here comes Oreo to check out my loot.
Then, here comes Abby again.
Then, they both start chewing on the greenery in my roses!  With all of the smacking that was going on, you would think they were eating something much better than this green stuff!
We laughed and laughed at them and I got some hilarious videos of them chewing frantically on that greenery.  I've had to hide my flowers in another room if I'm not home because they absolutely will not leave them alone!
Anyway, after watching the cats' antics for a while, we left to go out for supper in Paris.  I had narrowed the choices down to two places and let Allan choose which one.  He picked Magel's.  Magel's has the BEST bread so I was happy!
We each had a great meal and had a good visit with a work friend of Allan's that happened to be sitting at the next table.  The waitress tempted us with some cheesecake but we were so stuffed that we turned her down.  I can't believe I did that!  By the time we got back to town, our supper had settled enough that we had room for ice cream! So, we stopped at Braum's before heading on home.
I'm so thankful to have Allan as my Valentine every day of the year!

Safety First

Last week, Allan's work held their yearly Safety Banquet at our Vo-Tech School.  The weather was pretty yucky so the crowd was much slimmer than in years past.  We had a great meal that was catered by "Hole In The Wall" from Paris.  The food was wonderful, especially the bread pudding!  So, so delish!
Allan FINALLY received his 15 year award!  He had a lost time accident 15 years ago that fouled up the perfect record he was striving for.
I'm still proud that he hasn't had any accidents since then!  He received a nice jacket along with a certificate and and cash award.  I'm pretty sure the cash is mine!
He also won a nice cooler on wheels in the door prize drawing!  I'm really glad that Allan works for a company that stresses safety as much as they do.  I'm also glad that the employees are rewarded for their efforts to follow safety procedures and work together to make sure each one goes home safely at the end of the work day.

Sunday Social-Week 87

Ashley & her friend, Neely, have been hosting a "Sunday Social" link-up for over a year now.  I've just now decided it's about time for me to join in the fun!

This week's questions are about the number 4!

1. 4 Favorite bands you loved in high school
The Osmonds were my favorite...especially Donny!
I recently saw Donny & Marie's Christmas Tour and will be doing a post about that soon!
The Bee Gees
KC &  The Sunshine Band
In my senior year of high school I sorta converted to country music and Alabama was my favorite!

2. 4 go to meals you'd love to learn to cook or can cook really well
Meat loaf is my all-time go-to meal.  I nearly always have the ingredients on hand so I can whip one up in no time.  Add a vegetable or two and you've got a quick meal on the table!

Chicken Fried Venison is one of my family's favorites.
I also make gravy and mashed potatoes to go along with it!  So, so good!

A new favorite is a Paula Deen recipe for pan fried pork chops and bacon cheddar grits.  A good ole southern meal for sure!

Breakfast suppers are another family favorite-bacon or sausage, fried eggs, and biscuits or waffles.  I REALLY love it when Allan takes over the kitchen on a breakfast supper night.  He makes the best omelets!

3. 4 necessities to your daily life
Prayer is a must!  I begin and end my day with prayer and usually there are several more prayers throughout the day as situations come to mind.

Make-up!  I never go anywhere without my hair and make-up done. I may be in sweats or pajama pants to make a Sonic run but I WILL have at least mascara and lipstick on!

Dr. Pepper!  I'm really trying to cut down on the amount I drink each day and I'm making progress but right now, it's still a necessity.
Talking to my mom is an every day thing.  Hardly a day goes by without us talking to each other at least once.

4. 4 makeup necessities you must have if you could only have 4 on
Lipstick is my favorite!
Mascara
Foundation
Eyeliner

5. 4 favorite apps on your phone or iPad
My facebook app is my favorite!
Candy Crush Saga! I'm hooked!
100 Pics-another game I'm hooked on
Pinterest-so many great things pinned for 'one of these days'!
